United States Public Holidays
About United States Holidays
Federal Holidays
The United States observes 11 federal public holidays each year. These include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Federal offices, banks, and the postal service are closed on these days.
Week Starts on Sunday
In the United States, the week traditionally starts on Sunday. This calendar reflects that convention. When a federal holiday falls on a Saturday, it is usually observed on the preceding Friday; when it falls on a Sunday, it is observed on the following Monday.
